Searching for resources to support readers? The folks at Reading Horizons have created software and teacher resources to support your reading instruction. Their goal is to make learning how to read simple and enjoyable. This is also for beginning and struggling readers of all ages through their Orton-Gillingham software.
Orton-Gillingham Software
Reading Horizons has a series of products all based on the Orton-Gillingham method. These tools provide explicit, systematic, multi-sensory instruction in decoding, spelling, and pronunciation strategies. Reading Horizons Discovery® and Reading Horizons Elevate® are two reading software options with resources for teachers. If you are working with elementary school-aged students or students learning to read at any age, then you’ll want to check out what Reading Horizons has to offer.
Reading Horizons Discovery® is user-friendly with age-appropriate software and direct instruction material for K-3 students. In the video below you can see Discovery in action. It includes an overview of what it looks like in the classroom.
Teacher Resources
In addition to Reading Horizons Discovery®, the Reading Horizons Elevate® software and direct instruction teacher resources are designed for older students. The team at Reading Horizons wanted to make sure the material was age-appropriate for intervention beginning in grade 4 as well as for English Language Learners, students with special needs, and adult learners. A new version of Reading Horizons Elevate® is available this fall. It can increase emphasis on student engagement and cross-platform performance.
Heading to ISTE this year? The team at Reading Horizons will also be available in the PR with Panache! Storytelling Suite in the Hilton Palacio Del Rio to connect with educators interested in hearing more about their products. While you might not be at ISTE, don’t let this stop you. If you want to jump in right away, then visit Reading Horizons website to learn more. They’re even offering a free trial to new users – if you’re interested in getting started click here.
