Fun story about Peg who wants to reach the summit of Mt. Everest single handed, but has extreme winter elements to battle and also the Yeti that lives on Everest. Illustrations are amazing and can be inspiration for students to create their own art work from various parts of the book using Reid’s chosen medium of plasticine.
Stick Man by Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Enjoyable story about Stick Man who ends up having what starts out as a regular day turning into an adventure that leaves the reader wondering if he’ll ever get home to his “Stick Lady Love and their stick children three”. A tale that sees the seasons subtly changing. Lots of on-line activities, games, and YouTube clips.
